THE WESTCOME HEAT EXCHANGER

Reuse heat energy –> Save energy –> Reduce Co2 emissions –> Use heat exchangers

NO CLEANING

No maintenance, no cleaning. Standing record +12 years with out stops.

HIGHEST EFFIENCY

Direct heat transmission between high viscous flows. As manure and sludge

LOW POWER USAGE

2-8 times lower than other types of heat exchangers for high viscosity energy renewal

SINCE 2006

References available on request.

WHY YOU SHOULD INVEST IN A WESTCOME HEAT EXCHANGER

As prices for gas increases 200 EUR/Mwh, there has never been a better time to invest in heat exchangers. ROI time is negligible, most likely only months.

As the Westcome heat exchanger is maintenance free, needs no cleaning and have the lowest power demand (for pumps) on the market, investing in a heat exchanger for direct sludge/sludge heat exchange, is probably the best long term investment that can be done right now.

Contact us with data of your WWTP/Biogas plant, and we will be honored to serve you with a non binding offer and performance data

PERFECTION IS ACHIEVED NOT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO ADD, BUT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO TAKE AWAY.

At Westcome heat exchanger we design and manufacture our own patented heat exchanger, it is designed for thermal exchange of fluids with high viscosity, such as manure, sludge, and other difficult and high viscous fluids, direct and also high viscosity/water or heating or cooling.

Because no heat is lost in the heat transfer, our heat exchanger only needs one unit, because all the energy is transferred direct from the hot to the cold side.

This drasticly improves user value: –

You only need one unit for sludge/sludge operation. – You don’t need any additional pumps or control for sludge to water or to sludge circuit. The heat exchanger design is all steel, no sealings, no scheduled maintenance required, excellent records of having no need for cleaning and it is not exposed to fouling, due to the patented design, it is targeted to avoid the design flaws causing fouling.

(Customer testimonials and referral data is available on request).

THE DESIGN

The design is very flexible for dimensioning, sizing and can easily be fitted to the space available (height, length and width) within the same basic design (m3/h-effiency). The flanged pipe connections can be up/down, end or sideways, as requested.

Material is standard AISI316 (DIN 1.4404) or AISI304 (DIN 1.4301), other materials may be available on request. We look forward to receiving your request.

Technical data for the heat exchanger(s) for your project will be forwarded for your approval, prior to our offer.

Dimensioned drawings (3D and PDF) prior to your order can be forwarded as well.

All heat exchangers are delivered type rated and with documentation according to ISO and EN standards, with documentation according to ISO/EN and with a unique number for full traceability.

WHERE IS THE HEAT EXCHANGER USED?

Typically used in biogas systems, where N-gas is produced. In agriculture biogas plants, utilizing manure, food waste etc. or in larger waste water treatment plants,

where biogas can be produced. It is also used in other applications, where high viscous matters needs heating/cooling or heat energy regeneration.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Since 2006, where the first heat exchanger was manufactured and to this day with the latest V3 version, many step by step improvements has been introduced. The latest V3 have improved flow (less counter pressure) and very small installation dimensions compared to other makes.

The Westcome principle has proved to be very efficient, and use considerable less power for pumping, due to the low counter pressure thanks to the 1/3 to 1/2 flowrate needed in other types. Slow, forced stirring:

High viscous fluids traditionally requires high flow rates, because turbulence must be achieved in the flow to secure proper heat transfer. In the patented Westcome heat exchanger, turbulence is achieved by forced stirring, in a square channel, with plates inside.

This turbulates the flow, not by flow speed, but by forcing the flow to stir even and at flow rates as low as 0,3 m/s. Therefore power energy (for the pumps) is but a fraction of the power required for other types of heat exchangers.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

he Westcome heat exchanger is very adaptable to meet specific requirements. As the basic design remains, sizing can be customized easily.

As channel size, length, number of channels and work mode (parallel / seriel) can be changed and adapted to meet specific requirements in each installation.

No maintenance and no cleaning: Since the first operational heat exchangers installed in 2006, we have no record of any heat exchanger ever been in need for regular cleaning.

As the heat exchanger has no sealings, no maintenance is needed. References are available on request.

WHO WE ARE

Westcome heat exchangers is a danish based company, having one main product in our product portfolio:

A high viscosity heat exchanger, developed since 2006, patented and designed specially for sludge from wastewater treatment plants and biomass plants, which utilize or plan to utilize, the gas potential in the digestion process.

Our solution is field proved to be effective in more than one way: No maintenance costs, high thermal efficiency working high viscosity fluid, customizable design, low pressure drop and much more.

The heat exchanger is carefully dimensioned for each project and handle flows from 4 m3/h and higher.

HOW TO PROCEED

Contact us with a short description and some data for your project. As all heat exchangers are dimensioned according to your needs to achieve the best result, we calculate the optimal size(s) for the project at hand, and your essential parameters, such as temperature, efficiency,

ROI (payback time for different sizes/flows etc). We do forward technical data (size/dimensions, efficiency, pressures etc.) for your acceptance/modification and forward non-binding offer(s).

As standard we issue 5 years warranty. All heat exchangers are delivered with unique Westcome heatexchanger identification, manufactured and documented according to EN and ISO norms and standards.

Manufacturing documentation for each heat exchanger follows within 3-4 weeks after shipment in electronic (PDF) format.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Expect unmatched performance, particular in use as a direct (sludge/sludge, manure/manure) heat exchanger. Up to +70% efficiency can be achieved, only using power for the pumps in daily operation.

Expect a heat exchanger that is field proven since 2006 and carefully developed step by step to its present state, with unmatched operation costs due to its low pressure loss (less power for the pumps), no maintenance and no cleaning needed for most common (WWTP and biogas) installations.

Expect the sludge/sludge heat exchanger to pay for itself, due to the considerable fuel cost savings. 1 to 2 years are the norm, sometimes even shorter, sometimes a bit longer.

Expect to save Co2 emissions, because of the fuel saving. Co2 emissions are reduced, depending on fuel type, by 2.5 to 5 kg Co2 per kilo fuel saved. In other words, fuel savings are reduced by 20-30 kwh per m3 processed, Co2 emissions with 5 to 16 kg per m3.

As example, 10 m3/h processed per hour in a thermophilic (52-55 °C) installation, working 24/7, can save as much as 2700 Mwh, 270 ton fuel (at 10 kw/kg) and save the environment of 650 – 1000 t/year Co2.
